First Week

Well it was a pretty uneventful first week of being pregnant. I feel like I have to pee nonstop now. Sometimes it can be really annoying. Nice thing is being a nanny I can use the bathroom whenever I need to. I'm also tired all the time. I usually lay down whenever Hayden is down for his nap. I also seem to sleep when I get home from work too. It's weird that I'm not able to eat as much. I guess it's cause I'm trying to eat snacks throughout the day and definitely getting a TON of water. My belly is probably full from all of that when I go to eat lunch and dinner. I just can't wait to start showing so everyone knows we are expecting. I joked with Dave this weekend that I can't wait to show so I can eat whatever I want and not have anyone say anything about it!!

The most exciting news this weekend is that we found an apartment to move to. We had been talking about moving for the last month but had never really found anything worth it. We went to see a place a few weeks ago but still weren't sure about it. Then we found we were pregnant and decided we needed to move somewhere cheaper that we could get ourselves a little more out of debt before the baby comes along. The other reason we wanted to move is that Dave's housing pay increased to $2100. We wanted to find a place that wouldn't use all of that and help us pay somethings. Dave spent most of Friday night looking at places online trying to figure out how much we wanted to spend. We went to look at a place Saturday afternoon that one of his friends lives in. They ended up being too small for everything we have for the price it was. We decided to go back to the first place we went to. The guy who helped us said that the places were still available and they were $150 cheaper than they were when we first came in. We decided to sign a lease that day for a second floor 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. We really wanted a first floor apartment because there is a big wrap around porch that would fit our patio furniture and grill. We thought we were going to have to sell our furniture if we couldn't get the first floor one. The guy mentioned that an application was pending for it and would let us know if it got cancelled so we could have it.

Dave took one of his friends from work there this morning cause he might move there too. Dave called me saying that the first floor apartment became available!! The application was denied which meant we were able to get it. We were sooooo excited. The apartment complex has a huge fitness center, a bunch of big pools, an olympic size swimming pool and many amenities that is definitely going to be worth moving. We are moving into the place April 15th. That means the next 2 weeks will be coming home from work and packing things up so we can be ready. I'm definitely not looking forward to moving and unpacking but definitely ready to be somewhere new.

This morning I was able to scrapbook a little while Dave was at the apartment place. I haven't done much since finding out I was pregnant. It was nice getting back to working on our cross country trip. Hopefully I'll finish the album before we make another cross country trip probably next July :) I also need to be ready to make my pregnancy and baby album!! I'm very excited to go shopping for baby scrapbooking supplies. They are sooo cute.

I'm very happy to have a 4 day week. We will be packing so it'll be nice to be able to sleep in Friday. I hope everyone has a good week!

Here, have a million dollars

Do I really need to give it away? Alright honestly Dave and I would probably use some of it to get out of debt first. We would set aside enough that our little baby on the way would be able to go to college. The rest would be split between our families. We would definitely give a portion to Dave's parents to help them get on their feet and be able to have extra money to do things they want to like travel and what not. We would set a side enough for Dave's nieces to go to college. I would give my parents some for all of the help they have given us throughout our lives. I wonder how far a million dollars would go though and I would love to be able to help our families out like that. That would be such a rewarding thing to do.

PREGO!!!

I know we're not supposed to tell people I'm pregnant until after your 3rd month but I can't help myself. I'm so excited for this I can't even explain it. Here's what happened. I had been off birth control for over a year. We were trying on and off but weren't really forcing anything to happen. We thought if it happened it happens. Once we hit our year mark of trying a couple of my friends suggested getting tested to make sure everything was fine. We went to talk to a doctor and they said they will test Dave's sperm first and then check me. So Dave had an appointment for March 25th. We both thought it was going to take awhile to make sure since he had to have 2 appointments before I could even be seen. Since we had a month before Dave's appointment we decided to keep trying. I used the ovulation predictor tests to help me. I honestly thought I was getting my period this past weekend because I was getting cramps and my boobs were hurting like they normal do for my period. Thursday came and went and no period. I wasn't excited yet because I've been up to 2 days late when my period was supposed to come. Friday I still did not get my period. I have to admit I was starting to get a little excited but I remembered feeling that way before and the next day my period came. Saturday was our Twilight party and I kept going to the bathroom checking. Since I hadn't gotten it I decided not to drink to make sure. I thought if it doesn't come Sunday afternoon then I'm going to take a home pregnancy test. I woke up and still had not got my period so around 4 pm I took a pregnancy test. The double pink lines started showing up pretty much as soon as I put it down. I couldn't believe it!! I just kept thinking is this for real?? Dave didn't want to get excited until I took another one. So we went grocery shopping and I took another one when we got back. That one came out positive too! That pretty much proved to me that we were pregnant but Dave didn't want to be excited until we heard it from a doctor.

So I made an appointment for today to make sure. The doctor confirmed that we were pregnant and they concluded that I was 5 weeks pregnant according to my first day of my last period. With that information they think my potential due date will be November 27! They will check for sure with my first ultrasound which is scheduled for May 1st. I'm going to call next week to see if they have any cancellations for April 17 because I would love to see our baby and get a very good idea of how far along I am.

Dave and I are both soooo excited for this. Dave is hoping for a boy, but we both are praying that whatever we have is a healthy baby. This is my parents first grandchild so I can only imagine how spoiled our child will be. Both of our families could not be happier for the two of us. I of course will be posting all the goods and bads of being pregnant with lots of pictures. It's still hard to believe that I have a baby growing in my belly as I type and will be a mommy in 9 months! Crazy!!

A Great Week/Weekend!!

Well I've had a pretty good work week. Hayden turned 11 months this past week. He's growing and developing so quickly I can't even believe it. He started not wanting to sleep for his morning nap sometimes so I've kept him up during those days until 12:30. He's done pretty good with that so I'm interested to see if he'll be on a one nap schedule here pretty soon. He's starting to walk while holding onto my hands so it's not much longer before he's walking on his own. He's pretty much eating everything I give him now too. Still not the biggest fan of fruit but we're working on it. I'm really looking forward to his first bday because his parents want me to start taking him out of the house. There's a park up the street that I'm looking forward to letting him go play at. They are also going to buy a zoo pass and can only imagine how much he's going to like that. This is the age that I love because they become more independent and are able to do and understand so much more. But they still need your care. I had a very exciting weekend. If you've read my previous posts you know how much I LOVE the Twilight series. Well the movie finally came out on dvd. It was being released Friday at midnight. My sister suggested we go to one of the release parties some stores were having. I had never done that before so I said I would go with her. We decided to go to Borders because they had the special edition version she wanted to buy. We asked one of my other Twilight fan obsessed friends Jenny to come with us. She's actually the one who got me obsessed. When we got to Borders there were already a lot of people there. They started the party with a scavenger hunt. The three of us seemed to have a hard time walking around Borders finding a book to answer the question. After they did a trivia game. Then we did a word search. Before the party we filled out a movie award ballet and the winners were revealed later in the night. Finally they raffled off some prizes, which none of us won. Once it hit midnight they started lining people up to buy the movie. My sister got lucky to be one of the top 10 people so she got hers pretty soon after midnight. I had a good time but not sure I would go to another midnight release party again. Unless I was dying to see the movie that night or a celebrity was going to be there.

Saturday I had asked some girls to come over for a movie night at my place. It was so great to see some of the girls I used to work with. We hung out before everyone got there eating some junk and catching up. Jodi brought her little girl and Dave was just the cutest with her. Definitely ready for our own after seeing him with Mackenzie. Once everyone got there we started the movie. I loved it as much as I did the first time. It was neat watching with one of my friends who read the books but hadn't seen the movie. Her reactions were great the whole time. Those who haven't seen it, but love the book, keep in mind that movies are never as good as the book. They left out A LOT from the book and sped through a lot of the scenes must of us liked. I've decided that I'm going to take my laptop to watch it all week while Hayden sleeps. After that I'm going to reread the series. I've been told to reread at least New Moon because you miss a lot wanting to get through to the part Edward returns with Bella. So I'm going to watch the movie and all the extras then get back to the books. After the movie Dave, my sister and another couple hung out drinking and playing games. It was funny to be sober watching everyone be drunk.

Now today is laundry and relaxing day. Even better that it's March Madness time and I can watch basketball all day long. Luckily Pitt won and have made it to the sweet 16. The next game will be a big one for us since we've never made it past this round. I will be soooo nervous until that game is over. So that's about it for my exciting week/weekend. The next couple of weeks are going to be very low key since Dave and I are probably going to move next month. We're going to start packing and getting things ready for the move. I hope everyone has a good week.

Camera, please

I would love a high tech camera. Like one of those ones you can change every feature when you take a picture. It also has multiple lenses and what not. That camera is on the top of my WISH list because they are pretty expensive. I also want one of those because since becoming a scrapbooker I take a ton of pictures. That would help me take the best quality pictures for my scrapbook pages.

I'll spend my golden years in San Diego

The weather alone is why I could live here forever. 90% of the time it's sunny and warm. There are a few rainy days but sometimes I'm praying for rain because we don't get that much. I do miss the different seasons at times then I hear about how cold it is somewhere else and I remember how great San Diego is!!

Seat me next to the quiet starer, please

I think I would like a quiet person who stares because I could ask that person why he or she is staring. When I fly I don't mind having talkative people next to me but sometimes I prefer to zone out reading, listening to music or sleeping. If the person is quiet I could ask them to stop staring and mind my own business. I think it's harder to get someone to stop talking to you without being rude. That's just how I feel about this question even though being rude to both people might be the only way to get them to stop. I like this question though and curious what peoples answers are.

My favorite place to hear music: Post Gazette Pavilion

Well since this is where I've seen most if not all of my concerts, I don't have much to compare it with. The best part is being able to tailgate in the parking lot before and after the shows. A few years in a row, my friends and I went to the Dave Matthew's Band and Steve Miller Band concerts every summer. Those had to be my favorites because it didn't matter how sober I stayed because I knew what I was going to hear when we went in. Oh to be young with no worries again!! I have many GREAT memories from this venue!!!

The Sham Wow does not sell itself

I can say that I haven't but my husband did. He actually bought the Sham Wow. We actually call it the Scam Wow now. Those do not work AT ALL! I'm still shocked to watch those commercials and see what those people pick up with the towels. I want to know how they do it because ours are not able to do what they can.

I do enjoy watching infomercials though. They are sooooo funny to watch as long as you don't get suckered into buying the product.

Twilight Obsessed

Let me just start by saying that I know I'm a dork. I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan and now a HUGE Twilight fan. I have read the books and went to see the movie in the theater. I never thought I could get this obsessed with a kid/teen series again. But I did. The best thing is that Twilight is coming out on DVD Saturday, March 21. I am truly anticipating to see the movie again. My sister had the great idea of having a party to watch the movie. So I'm even more excited now.

Yesterday my day was spent checking the author's website. I was probably online for over 5 hours just reading the site. Her website is great because her brother updates it with all the latest info he hears from Stephenie. I have been checking it none stop since yesterday hoping they update it with more.

My sister found out that the actor who plays Jacob in the movie was going to be interviewed online tonight. So of course I was right at my computer listening to every word he had to say. He talked a lot about making the second movie New Moon. Makes me want to see that now but unfortunately they haven't even started filming yet. Luckily they are trying to get this movie out as soon as possible.

So until I get that DVD and get to watch all the extras I'm going to be looking online none stop. My sister and I are actually going to go out at midnight that Friday to get the movie. I just had to let everyone know that the Twilight series is great and if you love reading they are REALLY good books.

Let me tell you what I do

I am a nanny. I watch a toddler boy for 9 hours of the day. I give him a bottle at 7:30 when I get there. Then a little later I feed him whole food. He's in the process of learning to feed himself so it varies what I give him. After eating, we play in the living room with his toys and books. I put him down for a nap between 9:30 and 10. He will sleep between 1 to 2 hours. When he wakes from his nap, he gets another bottle. I feed him some more people food after his bottle for lunch. If the weather is nice, which it usually is living in San Diego, we go for a walk outside. I let him crawl from room to room, listening to music and playing with toys. I try to put him down for an afternoon nap between 1:30 and 2. He usually doesn't nap during this time but I let him listen to music and relax in his bed for an hour. During this time I finish doing his laundry and washing his dishes. After the hour I feed him another bottle and food. This usually takes us to when his mom comes home from work.

I think I have the best job in the world. Working with the little boy just brightens my day. The parents are wondeful too and we get along great. All of this makes me look forward to going to work everyday.

I love this line because the guy is getting ready to fight another guy. He gets out of his car and says this line. I think it's soooo funny because I couldn't imagine drinking green tea all day would pump you up for anything!!

Something New

I'm going to try something new with my blogging. I found this site that gives you daily prompts to blog about. I'm going to try to post the answers to these questions as much as I can. At least with the ones I like and have a response to. I hope I'll be able to post a lot more with these prompts but we'll see.

What a Great Weekend

I have had such a great weekend. First off the weather has been beautiful so that always makes for a good weekend!! Saturday I was invited for lunch with some of my girl friends from the preschool. I haven't seen some of them forever. It was great to catch up with all of them and hear the drama that I don't have to deal with anymore with the preschool.

After lunch Dave and I did a little shopping. I needed a few products to do my new hairstyle and we needed groceries BAD. I had an interesting experience getting my eyebrows waxed. The lady asked if she wanted me to trim before waxing. I said if they look like they needed it. I guess they did cause she trimmed them. After she waxed them she started plucking the left over hair. All of a sudden she started laughing and saying that I was missing a hair on the top of my eyebrow. She showed me and I really didn't understand what was sooo funny. Every time she started talking about it she just kept laughing. She was trying to make jokes about it but I really didn't find it funny. It's not that I minded too much cause it's not noticeable at all, but it's just the fact how funny she thought it was. She tried making a joke that I was going bald on my eyebrows. I was so ready for her to be done after that. At least she did a good job.

Dave and I went out for dinner Saturday night which we haven't done forever cause of being on weight watchers. It was just so nice to be out, dressed up, just the two of us. We thought about going to see a movie but there was nothing we really wanted to see. Plus we weren't that excited to pay $20 to see something we didn't want to. It's crazy how expensive going to the movies has become. We came home and watched Righteous Kill we had from Netflix. It was a decent movie with a twist at the end. I like those kinds of movies that end unlike how you thought.

Today we got up and washed our cars in the morning. I couldn't believe how dirty my car was. I love having a clean car to drive around in too. Especially living out here because most cars are kept clean with the nice weather. After we went to the swap meet out here to get some color ink we needed for our printer. It's nice to buy it from there cause she buys your empty cartridge and it's much cheaper to buy the ink from there. I was in such a good mood today because I was outside getting some sun on this beautiful day. I needed to do something outside because I feel like I'm so white. I need to get some more sun.

Now I'm going to do some scrapbooking because Dave is out golfing. All in all it has been a great weekend. I look forward to next weekend too cause we already have plans to do something with on of our couple friends from out here Friday. Saturday night I'm going to babysit. I just hope this weather stays so I can continue to be outside and getting sun! Maybe I'll start looking like I actually live in San Diego.
